Ensuring engagement & lasting memories that impact the delegate but not our planet.

Once considered a ‘nice-to-have’ among businesses, sustainability now needs to be a must. A ‘business-as-usual’ viewpoint is no longer viable. We must act!

It's becoming common place for us all to embrace social causes on a widespread global level. Here at Dancing Squirrel, we are dedicated to our Environmental, Sustainability, Governance (ESG) program. Whilst we are wanting to deliver the most amazing events, we align to our values, pursuing a sustainability agenda & it’s imperative.

We won’t say it’s easy, but ESG has been woven into everything we do, our processes, facilities, our products, solutions, & all services.

We have a focus on lowering our carbon footprint as well as target of achieving net zero event solutions by 2025.

The recent UN Climate Change Conference last year demonstrated that climate change is more than a buzz word & sustainability, the planet, are in fact a global priority.
The Paris Climate Agreement was approved by 197 nations at COP21 in 2015 & agreed to hold the increase in global average temperatures well-below 2°C & pursue efforts to limit the increase to 1.5°C. Presently, global temperatures have risen by 1°C since preindustrial levels. Holding warming to 1.5°C could mean that 11 million fewer people are exposed to extreme heat, 61 million fewer people are exposed to drought and 10 million fewer people are exposed to rising sea level impacts compared to 2°C warming. Governments and companies setting and achieving Net Zero targets will be key to limiting warming to 1.5°C [1]

So, exactly how are we helping?

In the next few months, we will be moving to our brand-new office, studio, workshop facility where we will have solar panels installed & will be using renewable greener energy. We have started to build the fleet of electric / hybrid vehicles. We are ethically sourcing, & we plan to the last detail, to ensure we don’t use too many delivery vehicles to deliver our supplies.

We have pledged to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2025.

In the planning of each event, we now consider every material used, & where possible we live by Pete Seeger’s words that “if it can’t be reduced, reused, repaired, rebuilt, refurbished, refinished, resold, recycled or composted, then it should be restricted, redesigned or removed from production.” We have a goal to go paperless in the office, however, traditionally there were certain documents, like building floor plans & room layouts, that have worked better when rolled out on the meeting room table, however we are now starting to trial a mixed reality solution which will allow our clients to truly walk through their venue before the event.

Sustainability starts within & extends beyond Dancing Squirrel to our customers; we still transform creative ideas into real solutions, delivering the clients key messages, ensuring engagement & lasting memories that impact the delegate but not our planet.
